3M™ Scotchcal™ Graphic Films are transparent, screen-printable vinyl films for applying graphics and other visual elements to automotive metal, paint, basecoat/clearcoat and glass, reducing additional paint processes in automotive OEM applications. Premium cast 2.0 mil film is tested for resistance to chemicals and moisture and a clear pressure-sensitive adhesive delivers strong final adhesion.
Exterior-Grade Graphic Films for Automotive OEM
3M™ Scotchcal™ Graphic Films encompass four separate screen-printable and digitally-printable films, all designed specifically for applying graphics and visual elements to vehicle surfaces – including glass – without time-consuming paint processes in automotive OEM. These 2.0 mil, screen-printable vinyl films are tested for resistance to degradation from exposure to moisture, chemicals, sunlight and typical outdoor temperature ranges. A permanent acrylic adhesive delivers strong final adhesion to automotive exteriors. The films also maintain integrity when washed with common soaps and cleaners.
3M™ Scotchcal™ Graphic Films PN3344, PN4873 and PN5979AC are excellent for application to a range of metal, painted metal and automotive clearcoat/basecoat surfaces. 3M™ Scotchcal™ Glass Bonding Film WA-581 is designed for application of exterior glass graphics where moisture resistance is critical. Non-glass films feature a removable premask/application tape, and all include an adhesive-side release liner for efficient positioning and repositioning.
