3M™ QS-2001B Series Cold Shrink Branch Splice Kit is specially designed to connect extruded dielectric power cables that are rated at 15 kV. The kit uses cold shrink technology for superior interfacial pressure and comes in a versatile design to make installation easy. It is used with JCN, CN, tape shield, UniShield® and wire shield cables.
3M™ Cold Shrink Branch Splice QS-2001B lets you easily splice and tap extruded dielectric power cables rated up to 15kV. This silicone rubber splice provides economical, effective installations without force pushing, pulling or heat (torch) of traditional splices. Since 3M invented it more than 30 years ago, Cold Shrink technology has been proven reliable by field use and laboratory testing. It offers interfacial pressure superior to that of push-on and heat shrink splices. The 3M™ Cold Shrink Branch Splice QS-2001B kit connects medium-voltage cables including cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) and ethylene propylene rubber (EPR), metallic wire, tape shield or JCN and plastic jacket. The set-screw connector in the QS-2001B kit adapts to a range of cable sizes. The 3M™ Cold Shrink Branch Splice QS-2001B can be used as an aerial splice, on cable trays or in direct burial applications. It is available with an adapter kit for splicing with cables of smaller diameter. This factory-tested splice meets requirements specified in the IEEE-404 Standard. Insulation Outside Diameter Range: · 1.00 - 1.35 Inch, 0.63 - 1.01 Inch (with QS2000BA Accessory) · 25.4 - 34.29 mm, 16.26 - 25.65 mm (with QS2000BA Accessory)
